Coming off a trip back to Australia in 2015 where Houry emigrated from, design inspiration was everywhere down under. So, when these lovely clients approached us with their quest for a dream home on a vacant lot they acquired years earlier, we were excited to see where the project would take us. A long, narrow and lovely waterfront lot in Ottawa, was the canvas. We needed to get creative as the brief was long and detailed. A 3-garage at the front led the charge, followed by a series of volumes spilling into each other fighting for the best views. The majestic great room and dining area took precedence and so did the master bedroom wing. This project created some interesting details which we are borrowing in 2026 for a new build. We remain fond of that journey and the wonderful clients who remain life-long friends.
