Projects / E2 Residence Renovation
The E2 residence has received a complete transformation inside and out.
Located on Prince of Wales Dr., this uniquely laid out bungalow and a portion of the living spaces in the basement, has been gutted and reshaped to create a much more functional, elegant and contemporary spatial flow.
A spectacular feature of this home is the courtyard which has now been exploited and, integral in tying the exterior, to the interior.
The U shaped residence, divides the living quarters neatly into 2 wings; private and public, by way of the beautiful, newly expanded cedar terrace with trellis pergola, overlooking the courtyard.
The large, newly incorporated patio windows bring much needed light into the house, while adding a sense of depth and grandeur to the once fully subdivided layout.
A dedicated new room for a grand piano, serves as a nucleus to unite family members gathered on either side of this semi-circular space. To its left, there is the redesigned sleek gas fireplace wall in the family room area and to the right, the great room /open concept kitchen bar area. A fairly large island serves as the central element to the kitchen with a butler alley linking to the dining room for more formal seating.
The details and materials blend contrasting 24" x 24",concrete floor tiling with warm walnut wood work accents throughout.
A feature new entrance vestibule has been entirely redesigned, opened up and modified to create a welcoming runway flanked by a custom built-in bench, cabinetry, walnut shelving and display nooks. The visitor arrival experience is enhanced by a dropped ceiling that frames the whole linear space and reflects the concrete tiled outline on the ground below, which is nestled within the hardwood flooring to allow for a smooth transition.
