Ottawa Ontario, 2012-2013 2000 SF Ground Floor and Basement

This project has received a complete transformation inside and out. The entire one story, uniquely laid out bungalow, has been gutted and reshaped to create a much more functional and fluid spatial flow. A spectacular feature of this home is the interior courtyard which has now been exploited and integral in tying the exterior to the interior. The large, newly incorporated patio windows bring much needed light into the house, while adding a sense of depth and grandeur to the once fully subdivided layout. A dedicated new room for a grand piano, serves as a nucleus to unite family members gathered on either side of this semi-circular space. To its left, there is the redesigned sleek fireplace family room area and to the right, the great room /open concept kitchen bar area. The details and materials blend contrasting concrete floor tiling with warm walnut wood work accents throughout a crisp clean white backdrop of built-in cabinetry and walls .
